40th Anniversary Exhibition

September 2019

Members have started working on their pieces for an exhibition to celebrate our 40th Anniversary.

One of our members, Helen Winthorpe Kendrick, has drawn out the design to enable separate elements to be identified and worked individually by other members of Darlington Branch. Once complete it will represent a stitched image of the theatre in 2019.

National Celebration of Stitch day

Saturday 4th August is Celebration of Stitch Day and the theme is hearts. We have secured a venue in the Cornmill to stitch and promote the Guild. Please come along and join us to do some stitching.

Making Charitable Items

Our talented members have been at it again helping make items for charitable organisations after making tray cloths for St Theresa's Hospice. More recently our branch have made twiddle muffs for Alzheimer suffers and also wiggly bags to hold Hickman lines for children who are undergoing cancer treatment. We are always looking for new projects in order to help our wider community.

Mount Pleasant School

Our members have once again excelled themselves in helping the talented children of Mount Pleasant School to produce a second panel for the World's Longest Embroidery. Another school in Newton Aycliffe has shown interest in producing a panel so hopefully our members will be able to start one with them in the summer term.

See out Facebook page for some pictures of how well they got on.
